Hey everyone, I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks researching apartments in Tbilisi because I might move there for remote work. Last year I visited for a short stay and rented a small place near Vake, and I remember how different the neighborhoods felt even within short distances. Now I’m trying to understand how people usually find reliable listings without getting overwhelmed by random ads or outdated posts. I’ve been comparing a few sources and one site I came across was https://kalaki.ge/en while just browsing options, but I’m still not sure how locals usually approach the search in practice. Do most people rely on agents, or is it common to find deals directly from owners?

I don’t have direct experience renting in Georgia, but I’ve been reading threads like this for a while because I’m interested in how fast-growing cities evolve. Tbilisi and Batumi seem especially dynamic, with new residential buildings appearing quite frequently and different districts developing their own character over time. What stands out to me is how lifestyle seems to matter as much as price—some people clearly prefer quieter residential areas, while others enjoy being closer to busy streets and tourist zones. It’s interesting how personal preferences can completely change what “good value” means in a city like this.
