Anyone know a spot that’s straightforward but still does a solid job?
I’m trying to find a barbershop in Austin that doesn’t feel overly “hipster boutique,” if that makes sense. I just want a clean fade and a lineup without a whole production. Last week I walked into a place where they offered me craft kombucha before even asking what haircut I wanted. Cool, but not what I’m after.

I get what you mean — some shops here feel more like cafes than barbershops. I had the same issue until I checked a few places listed on best barbershop austin . That guide helped me figure out which shops focus more on skill and less on the “experience package.” I ended up going to a small barbershop where the guys actually listen, take their time, and don’t pressure you into some trendy style you didn’t ask for. Austin definitely has those simpler, quality-focused spots; they’re just harder to find at first.
